Changdeokgung Palace (Historic Site) was built in 1405 as a secondary palace after Gyeongbokgung. Since it is located to the east of the main palace, Gyeongbokgung, it was also called Donggung (“Eastern Palace”). The Geumcheongyo Bridge was built in 1411, and Donhwamun Gate was completed in 1412. Starting from the reign of King Seongjong, the 9th king of Joseon, several kings resided here, making it function as a main royal palace

The War Memorial of Korea, located in Yongsan-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, preserves and exhibits materials that reveal the realities of national defense and war. It was established on June 10, 1994, by the War Memorial Service Korea to honor the noble sacrifices of those who gave their lives for the country and to educate future generations.
