The Korean Language Institute of Dong-A University provides Korean language education for international learners and supports deeper understanding of Korea through diverse experiences of traditional and popular Korean culture. Level-based Curriculum (Beginner–Advanced)
Level 1–6 courses are organized from Beginner to Advanced. Class hours may differ by level, helping students learn at the right pace and progress step-by-step.
Intensive Semester System
The program operates 4 semesters per year (10 weeks each). Classes run Monday to Friday with a total of 200 hours per semester (20 hours/week × 10 weeks).
Small Classes & Supportive Learning
Class size is kept small (up to 15 students) to support active participation, speaking practice, and personalized feedback.

Level 1 Korean Language Course (Beginner · Foundation)
Level 1 is designed for learners who are new to Korean. Students build a strong foundation in Hangul, essential vocabulary, and basic grammar to communicate in everyday situations.
1. Learning Objectives
- Read and write Hangul accurately (basic consonants/vowels, syllable blocks, common spelling patterns).
- Use essential vocabulary for daily life (greetings, numbers, time/date, location, transportation, food).
- Form simple sentences using basic particles and core verb/adjective patterns.
- Handle practical beginner conversations: self-introduction, asking/answering simple questions, shopping/order.
2. Course Contents
Hangul & Pronunciation
Consonants/vowels, 받침 basics, sound changes, reading practice, and clear pronunciation drills.
Basic Grammar
Sentence structure, topic/subject/object particles, copula, basic tenses, polite endings, and common connectors.
Vocabulary Themes
